Paal Flaata, former singer of the country-rock band Midnight Choir, dedicated his latest album the songs of Mickey Newbury, the American singer-songwriter legend. The Norwegian singer with a warm baritone interprets Mickey Newbury songs on his own wonderful way with passion and respect. The album is produced by Göran Grini who accomanpies Paal Flaata on most of the songs. The tasteful arrangements remain discreetly in the background, but without losing its presence and give always enough space for the development of the beautiful and soft timbres of Paal Flaatas voice. An album full of enthusiasm and depth. Mickey Newbury would have been proud!
