Eric Clapton - The Complete Reprise Studio Albums Vinyl Box Set - Volume 2. Ce coffret vinyle 10 LP contient les albums suivants : Reptile, Me & Mr. Johnson, Sessions for Robert J, Back Home, Clapton and Rarities Volume II 2001-2010 (2023).

Ce coffret vinyle contient cinq albums studio enregistrés par Eric Clapton pour Reprise entre 2001 et 2010 - commençant par Reptile et se terminant par l'album Clapton du même nom. Sorti à l'origine sous forme de CD/DVD, ce coffret est la première sortie vinyle de Sessions for Robert J.

Chacun des albums a été remasterisé par Bob Ludwig aux Gateway Studios dans le Maine, et le mastering des vinyles a été réalisé par Chris Bellman chez Bernie Grundman Mastering à Los Angeles. Simon Climie, coproducteur et ingénieur de longue date de Clapton, a supervisé ces remasters définitifs, qui ont été pressés sur des vinyles de 180 grammes.

Pour améliorer encore la qualité audio, Me & Mr. Johnson (sorti à l'origine sous la forme d'un single LP) a été remastérisé sous la forme d'un double album à 3 faces - pour s'assurer qu'aucune face du LP ne dépasse 20 minutes (l'album comporte une gravure sur la face 4).

Un LP "bonus" de raretés, compilé et produit par Simon Climie, est inclus et couvre la même période que le coffret. La plupart des 8 titres sont épuisés, difficiles à trouver ou n'ont jamais été publiés en vinyle auparavant.

Les cinq albums studio et l'album de raretés forment un total de 10 pièces vinyles dans le coffret, toutes logées dans un étui de luxe.

Geboren am 30. 3.1945 in Surrey „Er ist wieder da', jubelten vor knapp einem Jahr Fachwelt und Fans, und sie meinten Eric Clapton, den sie einst zum Gott der Gitarre hochstilisiert hatten. Die letzten 3 Jahre war er fast verschollen gewesen, vom Rauschgift an den Rand des Untergangs gebracht, die fast geniale Begabung zu seinem Instrument war verloren. Mit aller Kraft riss sich Eric Clapton schließlich doch von der Droge los, und begann wieder zu arbeiten.

Die erste Band von Eric Clapton waren die „Roosters“ die Mitglieder hießen Paul Jones, Tom McGuiness und Brian Jones. Als die Gruppe auseinanderbrach stieg er ,für 14 Tage bei Casey Jones ein. Der Job missfiel ihm, und Eric Clapton wechselte in eine Band, die sich Yardbirds nannte. Hier entwickelte sich Clapton zu dem hervorragenden Gitarristen, der er war. 18 Monate später wechselte er zu John Mayall, der ihm den letzten Schliff mit auf den weiteren Weg gab.

1966 gründete Eric mit Ginger Baker und Jack Bruce die mittlerweile sagenumwobene Supergruppe Cream. Bis zu ihrem Splitting im Jahre 1968 setzte Cream die Maßstäbe in der Popmusik. Über 12 Mill. Langspielplatten wurden bis heute verkauft. Nach kurzer Pause gründete Eric Clapton nun mit Baker, Rick Grech und Stevie Winwood die Gruppe „Blind Faith'. Die 4 Musiker produzierten nur 1 Platte, die vor ihrem Erscheinen schon millionenfach verkauft war, absolvierte eine USA- Tournee und löste sich wieder auf. Die letzte Gruppe, die Eric Clapton formierte, nannte sich „Derek And The Dominoes'. Danach zog er sich mehr und mehr aus dem Showgeschäft zurück.
