Ce coffret de 4 CD à clapet rassemble trois albums et un disque supplémentaire d'archives inédites du légendaire groupe britannique UNICORN : "SLOW DANCING - THE RECORDINGS 1974 - 1979".

Unicorn a enregistré son premier album en 1971 pour le label Transatlantic, mais dès 1973, ils ont commencé à s'associer avec DAVID GILMOUR de PINK FLOYD qui a été séduit par l'approche musicale du groupe et les influences musicales de la côte ouest américaine, les harmonies vocales et les paroles très anglaises. Gilmour devait produire leur prochain album, BLUE PINE TREES. Avec un line-up de Kenny Baker (guitare, claviers, chant), Pete Perryer (batterie, chant), Pat Martin (basse, chant) et Kevin Smith (guitare, mandoline), "Blue Pine Trees" sort sur le label Charisma en 1974 et est produit par David Gilmour, qui est également présent sur Pedal Steel Guitar et à la guitare sur plusieurs morceaux. En 1976, le groupe a signé avec le label EMI Harvest et a enregistré son album suivant TOO MANY CROOKS. David Gilmour a produit l'album une nouvelle fois et a également participé en tant que musicien à plusieurs morceaux. L'album comprend la chanson NO WAY OUT OF HERE que Gilmour reprendra sur son premier album solo en 1978. ONE MORE TOMORROW, le dernier album du groupe, est sorti en 1977.
Bien qu'Unicorn ait continué jusqu'en 1979, le groupe n'a pas enregistré d'autre nouvel album.

"SLOW DANCING - THE RECORDINGS 1974 - 1979" rassemble les albums BLUE PINE TREES, TOO MANY CROOKS & ONE MORE TOMORROW, tous avec des pistes supplémentaires en bonus et comprend un CD supplémentaire avec 19 enregistrements d'archives studio et live inédits, sélectionnés par Pat Martin de Unicorn. Le set comprend également un livret et un essai illustrés et constitue un bel hommage à l'un des groupes les plus singuliers de Grande-Bretagne.
