Le coffret 5CD de 95 titres contient les cinq albums studio de Barry pour Polydor Records, un disque d'enregistrements non-LP publiés par Polydor et un disque de morceaux de la fin des années 70 pour d'autres labels, dont neuf morceaux inédits.
Bien plus de la moitié des titres présentés apparaissent ici pour la première fois sur CD.
Eloise" est devenu le numéro 1 mondial, y compris la première position en Grande-Bretagne, en Australie, en Nouvelle-Zélande, en Belgique, en France, en Italie, aux Pays-Bas, en Norvège, en Espagne et en Allemagne, ainsi que le top 5 dans la plupart des autres pays où des disques ont été achetés.
L'Allemagne est restée un marché important pour Barry et il a décroché des succès comme 'Love Is Love' (n° 4), 'The Hunt' (n° 22), 'Colour Of My Love' (n° 23), 'Magical Spiel' (n° 22), 'Kitsch' (n° 10) et 'Sanctus, Sanctus Hallelujah' (n° 42), qui figurent tous dans cette collection.
La publication a été réalisée avec le soutien total de sa succession et a été supervisée par Bob Stanley, un fan de longue date de St. Etienne, qui a contribué à des linernotes détaillées.

Barry Ryan * 24. Oktober 1948 Der Brite Barry Ryan beginnt 1965, zusammen mit seinem Zwillingsbruder Paul Platten zu veröffentlichen. Mit Paul als Songschreiber im Rücken vermag Barry, im Herbst 1968 einen Stern vom Himmel zu holen, als er die opulent arrangierte, sechsminütige Hymne auf "Eloise" singt. "Eloise" erscheint auf Polydors Partnerlabel MGM und verkauft sich in Europa und in den USA millionenfach. Im Jahr 1969 wechselt Barry Ryan zu Polydor und festigt seinen Ruf als Popstar mit Songs wie "The Hunt" (1969) und "Kitsch" (1970). Sein erster und einziger deutschsprachiger Top-Ten-Hit wird 1972 "Zeit macht nur vor dem Teufel halt" (HP 8).
