Après diverses répétitions, John Fogerty et son frère Tom, Stu Cook et Doug Clifford ont formé le groupe'Creedence Clearwater Revival' en 1967, qui a eu ses premiers grévistes un an plus tard. Le groupe a connu un tel succès jusqu'à sa dissolution en 1972 qu'il a atteint un chiffre d'affaires record de plus de 100 millions de marks. Ce chiffre d'affaires s'est également reflété dans 8 disques d'or simple et 7 disques d'or longue durée.

Le musicien intelligent, qui a quitté son groupe pour commencer une carrière solo, a écrit presque tous les grands succès du CCR. "Il a écrit "Proud Mary", "Down On The Corner" ou "Born On The Bayou". Avec ce talent, John Fogerty tente - en vain jusqu'à présent - de s'appuyer sur le succès de son groupe en tant que soliste.
