Carl Drewo started working at American NCO Clubs after World
War II. From 1953 to 1958 he played with Theo Ferstl, Friedrich
Gulda, Harald Banter (1954), Johannes Fehring (1955), Fatty
George (1956-57), Kurt Edelhagen (1958-1971). The first titles
in his own name were recorded in 1956. From 1958 Drewo also
worked as sideman for Paul Kuhn, Max Greger and other German
orchestra conductors and co-founder of the Clarke/Boland Big
Band. In the 70s and early 80s he worked with Art Farmer and
These rare sessions were recorded for German radio and feature
Drewo as a member of quartet, quintet and septet line-ups.
These previously unreleased live recordings were newly remastered
for optimal sound.
