"The Shadows"

En 1958, le guitariste Hank Marvin, le guitariste Bruce Welch, le bassiste Jet Harris et le batteur Tony Meeham ont uni leurs forces pour former un groupe appelé The Drifters pour accompagner Cliff Richard. En raison de conflits de nom avec le groupe américain Drifters, ils se sont plus tard rebaptisés Shadows.

En 1961, Brian Bennet s'est joint à la batterie de Tony Meeham et Jet Harris a été remplacé par Brian Locking et John Rostill. Les Shadows ont connu un succès considérable avec des chansons instrumentales telles que "Apache", "Atlantis" ou "Frightened City" et en tant que groupe de studio Cliff Richards. En 1970, les Shadows se séparent pour se réunir en novembre 1973 avec Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennet et le nouveau venu John Farrar, où ils enregistrent également leur dernier LP "Rockin' with curly leads' et en 1975, ils représentent la Grande-Bretagne au Grand Prix de la Chanson à Stockholm, où ils prennent la deuxième place.
