Mitglieder: Karl Victor Davis, geb. 17. 12. 1905 in Mt.Vernon/ Kentucky Hartford Connecticut Taylor, geb. 11.5. 1905 in Mt.Vernon/Kentucky, gest. 1963 Record Labels: ARC, Capitol, Rounder Karl & Harty waren in den 30er und 4oer Jahren ein sehr beliebtes und einflussreiches Gesangsduo. Harty spielte Gitarre und Karl die Mandoline.

Überregionalen Bekanntheitsgrad errangen sie vor allem durch ihre 21 jährige Mitgliedschaft beim WLS National Barndance in Chicago. Karl Davis wurde obendrein als Komponist bekannt und berühmt mit Songs wie ,I`m Just Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail“, ,The Prisoners Dream“ und ,Kentucky“. Selbst Linda Ronstadt und Emmylou Harris haben einige Songs von Karl Davis noch in ihrem Repertoire.
