with Floyd Terry, the Pirates and the Frantics Another stab at rock 'n' roll from the early days of 'D's existence -- and another artist about whom little is known at this point. Sonny Sheets -- who sounds more like a mainstream pop singer than anything else here -- was living in Covington, Kentucky, near Cincinnati, when he cut his lone 'D' single early in 1958. According to Colin Escott's notes in 'The Complete 'D' Singles, Volume 1,' Sheets also cut sides for Saturn and Kalco, but no further information has surfaced on him.
