Christian Bleiming

Born in 1960, “The Westphalian Boogie King” from Münster plays in a traditional style of “Pi- netop” Smith, Meade Lux Lewis and other early masters. Christian has made regular appea- rances on German television and radio shows, in particular the talk show “Theatercafe Live”. He has toured extensively throughout Europe and has performed with artists such as Angela Brown, Big Joe Duskin, Chuck Berry, Big Jay McNeely, Axel Zwingenberger a.o. .

Like many of the early pioneers of the music, Christian is often influenced by the sounds and rhythms of steam trains. His third album (out of 10 to date) “Boogie Woogie Power Train”, is a fine example of the genre with a mix of well-known classics, together with some of his own compositions. His album, “Boogie Woogie With A Touch Of Blues” (2014) was nominated for the “Deutscher Schallplattenpreis”. Bleiming ́s latest record (No.10), “Blues Everywhere“, was brought out in 2019, a vinyl album with vocalist Izi Onslow and Amandus Grund on guitar.

In 2015, Christian was honoured with the “Pinetop Award” for his contribution to Blues and Boogie Woogie piano.
